  • About HPCET 2017

    Himachal Pradesh Technical University conducts a State Level Entrance Test (HPCET 2017), invites application form the candidates interested to seek admission to B.Tech, M.tech, B.Pharmacy, B.Pharmacy (Ayurveda), M.Pharmacy, MCA and MBA programmes for the session 2017-18. Eligible candidates have to apply online for HPCET 2017.

    HPCET 2017 will be conducted on May 13, 2017 and will be a offline (Pen and Paper based) test. The application form will be available from March 02, 2017. HIMTU releases the application form process in the online mode. Last date for submitting filled in application forms is on 29 April, 2017.

  • Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates must have passed 10+2/XII or equivalent test from a recognised board/university.

    General category candidates should have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate, while reserved category candidates must have obtained at least 40% marks in aggregate in class 12th or equivalent.

    Subject combination in class 10+2/XII or equivalent exam should be – Physics and Mathematics as compulsory with along with one of the subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.

    For the qualifying marks criteria, if the aggregate percentage is coming in fraction, then the percentage of minimum marks secured shall be rounded off to the nearest percentage of marks. For example, a candidates having the aggregate marks in the range of 44.50–44.99 %, shall be rounded off to 45%. Similarly, marks percentage in the range of 44.01–44.49% shall be rounded off to 44%.

    HPCET Eligibility Criteria 2017 for Admission:
    Admission to B.Tech programmes in the participating institutes of HPCET 2017 will be offered strictly on the basis of merit or rank/marks in JEE Main 2017 and HPCET 2017.

    Along with the merit/ranks of candidates, HIMTU will also take into account the eligibility criteria for admissions to various B.Tech disciplines as per the norms set by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

    HPCET 2017 Admission Eligibility Criteria (Direct Entry):
    First 50% of the total B.Tech seats will be offered to candidates based on their merit/rank/score in JEE Main 2017. Rest of the 50% seats will be offered to candidates on the basis of their merit in HPCET 2017.

    If the seat allotment under JEE Main 2017 and HPCET 2017 merit list is completed and still vacant seats are left, then the remaining seats would be offered based on candidates merit in 10+2 exam conducted by a recognized board or university.

    The number of seats which remain vacant after offering admission on the basis of each test/exam will be shifted and offered based on the next test/exam in continuous order.

    Important: The minimum/cut off marks for admission to B.Tech programmes on the basis of JEE Main 2017, HPCET 2017 and 10+2 shall be as follows:

  • Application Form 2017

    HPCET 2017 Application Form will be available in online mode only. HPCET application form 2017 will be made available by HIMTU from March 2, 2017. All candidates, applying for HPCET 2017 must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria of HPCET and fill the application form before the deadline. Last date to apply for HPTU 2017 is April 29. They must cross-check carefully that all the information provided in the application form of HPCET 2017 is correct.

    Caution: Incomplete application forms are liable to rejection. Thus, fill every required detail correctly.

  • Exam Pattern and Admit Card

    HPCET 2017 Exam pattern give details about what kind of questions will be there in the entrance test, the marking scheme, total number of questions, sectional weightage, etc. It’s important for aspiring candidates of HPCET 2017 to have knowledge about the exam pattern of the entrance exam well in advance, which helps in attempting and solving the question paper with ease and clarity.

    • HPCET 2017 will be conducted in 3 hours
    • Each of the 3 sections will have same weightage of 50 questions each.
    • The test will be conducted in English.
    • Each correct answer will fetch 2 marks, while 0.5 or 1/4th marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

    HPCET 2017 Admit Card will be made available online by Himachal Pradesh Technical University, tentatively in the first week of May 2017. The admit card of HPCET is an important document and candidates must download and take a printout of HPCET 2017 hall ticket or admit card and carry it to the exam centre. No candidate will be permitted to enter the examination hall without the possession of a valid hall ticket.

    Note: All applicants must cross-check all particulars on the e-admit card of HPCET and ensure that all details are correct to the best of their knowledge. In case any discrepancy occurs in the admit card, it must be brought to the notice of Controller of Examinations, H.P. Technical University, Gandhi Chowk, Hamirpur-177001 (H.P.) at the earliest.

  • Answer Key, Result and Counselling

    HPCET Answer key 2017

    HPCET 2017 Answer Key will be available after the entrance exam gets over. Through HPCET 2017 answer key, the examinees can cross-check the responses they have marked against the questions in the test and figure out their probable score. If the test takers find any discrepancy in the official answer key of HPCET 2017, they can raise their complaints in written and send it to office of the Controller of Examination, H.P. Technical University, Gandhi Chowk, Hamirpur-177001 (H.P.) along with the supporting documents/solution pertaining to question papers/answer keys.

    Note: Complaints against the answer key of HPCET 2017 must be sent within two days of conducting of HPCET 2017 exam.

    HPCET Result 2017

    HPCET 2017 Result will be announced online by the university for candidates who appear in the entrance test. The result of HPCET 2017 will also be available on the notice board of the university.

    HPCET Rank/Merit List 2017

    HIMTU will prepare a rank list/merit list for candidates who successfully take HPCET 2017. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured by the test takers in HPCET 2017. HPCET 2017 merit list will be available online as well as on the notice board of the university. However, just appearing in the merit list of HPCET 2017 doesn’t confirm admission of any candidate. They have to satisfy the eligibility criteria and the availability of seats in counselling and admission process.

    HPCET Counselling 2017

    HPCET 2017 Counselling will be done for admissions of candidates who qualify JEE Main 2017 and HPCET 2017. For counselling, the candidates have to register themselves and pay the registration fee online via credit card/net banking/debit card.

    First 50% seats will be allotted to JEE Main 2017 qualifiers through the counselling of HPCET 2017, while the remaining seats will be offered through HPCET 2017 counselling to candidates who qualify HPCET 2017.

    In case vacant seats are left even after the counselling for JEE Main 2017 and HPCET 2017, then the seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of their merit in 10+2.

    Candidates, who are allotted seats, must pay the admission fee or else the next candidate in sequence of merit ranking will be given that seat.
